International Air & Space Hall of Fame Inducts Will Cutter and Cutter Aviation in Class of 2022

Cutter Aviation announced the induction of Will Cutter and Cutter Aviation into the International Air & Space Hall of Fame at the San Diego Air & Space Museum. This recognition commemorates over 94 years of commitment to aviation and the hard work and dedication of the Cutter family to the industry.

“It truly is a humbling honor to be in the company of past inductees such as the Wright Brothers, Charles Lindbergh, Howard Hughes, Bob Hoover and Chuck Yeager, who were true pioneers that set the bar high for many generations of aviators to come,” President and CEO Will Cutter said. “We proudly share this honor with the entire Cutter family, which includes hundreds of passionate employees from Arizona, California, Colorado, New Mexico and Texas, all giving their best every day to serve our clients.”

The International Air & Space Hall of Fame has honored the world’s most significant pilots, crew members, visionaries, inventors, aerospace engineers, business leaders, preservationists, designers and space explorers since 1963.

“We’re exceptionally pleased to honor this exemplary Class of 2022 because these men and women are amongst the most talented figures in the history of air and space,” said Jim Kidrick, President & CEO of the San Diego Air & Space Museum.

Cutter has been an advocate for aviation his whole life. He is the third generation in his family to join Cutter Aviation. As the leader of the oldest family-owned and operated FBO in the world, he has stayed true to the core values of trust, integrity and respect.

Cutter started flying at an early age and obtained his pilot’s license as early as he could, following in his grandfather and father’s footsteps. He officially joined the family business in 1979 and over the years has worked in many departments from the wash rack to sales and everything in between. Furthering the family legacy, Cutter expanded from two locations to seven, spreading throughout the southwest.

When his father passed away in 2018, Cutter established the William R. “Bill” Cutter Memorial Scholarship at Embry Riddle Aeronautical University, to honor him and share a love for aviation. As of 2022, two of his four children have joined Cutter Aviation, continuing the fourth generation of family leadership and continuing the legacy.
