Uber has appointed former SVP of mobility and business operations Andrew Macdonald as the company’s new president and COO, effective immediately, the ride-hailing company announced Monday. He reports directly to CEO Dara Khosrowshahi.
Macdonald joined Uber in 2012 and was in his prior role since 2019. He will be responsible for the company’s global mobility, delivery and autonomous businesses, and key cross-platform functions like membership, customer support, safety and Uber for Business, according to Macdonald’s LinkedIn profile.
In a statement, Khosrowshahi said Macdonald had launched the company’s Toronto operations 13 years ago, scaled Uber’s mobility business and spearheaded its autonomous strategy.
In addition, SVP of delivery Pierre-Dimitri Gore-Coty has left the company. Khosrowshahi added that Gore-Coty was one of Uber’s first employees, was a “driving force” behind the global mobility expansion, and stepped up to run Uber Eats just before the Covid lockdowns.
