Textron gives DOT Secretary Duffy tour of new Career and Learning Center
Textron Aviation welcomed DOT Secretary Sean Duffy and Senator Jerry Moran on Dec. 16 for a tour of its new Career andamp; Learning Center.
The center is an over $40 million investment that is meant to strengthen the aviation talent pipeline by consolidating application, training and development in one place. Textron states that it accelerates employee readiness and showcases its commitment to building a skilled workforce through investing in the hiring, onboarding and training of employees.
“Our world-class workforce is a critical piece of Kansas’ economic health and growth,” said Maggie Topping, senior VP of HR and communications. “By investing in our people, Textron Aviation helps ensure our community and industry remain strong, innovative and ready for the future.”

Textron expressed its appreciation to Secretary Duffy for his efforts to advance improvements within the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) certification process and to Senator Moran for his support of FAA Workforce Development Programs. The two also visited the Boeing Wichita facilities and the National Institute for Aviation Research at Wichita State University. Duffy did a similar visit to Boeing’s facility in Seattle, Washington on March 13 earlier this year
