Texas aircraft group announces strategic U.S. market expansion initiative



Texas Aircraft Manufacturing, Inc. today announced a strategic initiative to expand its U.S. market presence, building on the Colt 100’s established operational performance across North and South America and aligning future product development with the FAA’s recently approved Modernization of Special Airworthiness Certificates (MOSAIC) framework.As part of this initiative, Texas Aircraft Manufacturing and its sister company in Brazil, INPAER (Indústria Paulista de Aeronaves), are increasing technical coordination between their engineering and leadership teams to evaluate near- and mid-term enhancements to the Colt 100 S-LSA platform. These efforts are focused on leveraging MOSAIC-enabled opportunities to further support the needs of flight training organizations and private operators.”The Colt has already demonstrated its reliability and efficiency as a primary training aircraft,” said Caio “Kyle” Braga, Director of Sales and Marketing for Texas Aircraft Manufacturing. “In 2025 alone, flight schools in the U.S. and Brazil accumulated more than 8,500 flight hours in the Colt. Our current focus is on responsibly evaluating how MOSAIC can allow us to enhance the aircraft’s capabilities while maintaining the safety, simplicity, and cost-effectiveness that operators value.”Braga noted that as part of this ongoing evaluation, INPAER recently hosted Brazil’s National Civil Aviation Agency (ANAC) at its Campinas, São Paulo facility to discuss the regulatory feasibility of future configurations, including potential IFR training applications under VFR/IMC conditions and increased maximum takeoff weight.
These discussions are proceeding through established certification pathways and remain subject to final regulatory approval and harmonization with applicable FAA standards.
In parallel, Texas Aircraft continues to actively participate in the ASTM F37 Light Sport Aircraft Committee, contributing to the development of new consensus standards associated with the MOSAIC rulemaking.”Texas Aircraft is currently engaged in the ASTM F37 Aerial Work Subcommittee, ensuring that the new standards effectively support and define the operational framework for commercial and utility aircraft use,” Braga said. “Our goal is to demonstrate the vital importance of the light-sport category in professional flight training and show how INPAER and Texas Aircraft are committed to being at the technical forefront of this industry.”
