Scandinavian Airlines and WestJet “later this summer” will begin sharing codes, building on an interline agreement they recently signed, the carriers announced this week.
SAS flies year-round between Copenhagen and Toronto Pearson, and once the codeshare is in place, SAS said WestJet would place its code on this nonstop service and on SAS-operated flights connecting European cities including London, Paris and Amsterdam, along with destinations across Scandinavia. The carrier added that SAS customers also will gain access to WestJet’s Canadian domestic network from North American gateways.
Through the interline agreement, which SAS said would be available June 26, WestJet customers will gain single-ticket access to 29 destinations across Denmark, Sweden and Norway, according to the carriers, including SAS’ Copenhagen-Toronto nonstop. It also enables connections with SAS’ network through London Heathrow, Paris, Dublin, Amsterdam, Reykjavik and other European gateways, according to WestJet.
