Amadeus’ payments business, Outpayce, has launched a “payments marketplace” to help airlines more easily connect to payment partners, the company announced.
The marketplace includes a growing collection of hundreds of payment partners that airlines can search, according to Outpayce, a wholly owned business launched by Amadeus a few years ago. Airlines can see which countries, currencies and services each partner provides. Through the marketplace, airlines can request new payment capabilities, start the activation process and update payment orchestration flows, the company said.
Simplifying access to alternative payment tools can help airlines speed up route expansion plans to new global markets, according to Outpayce SVP and global head of product management and delivery Jean-Christophe Lacour.
“With our marketplace catalog, it’s easy to identify partners across those markets, using live transaction data from our platform to further assess the relevance of each prospective partner,” Lacour said in a statement. “If a partner is already supporting millions of travel-specific transactions in a region, it builds confidence and helps travel companies move faster.”
