Hoshino Resorts Announces Pioneering Onsen Ryokan in the United States

Hoshino Resorts, a renowned Japanese hospitality brand celebrating its 110th anniversary, is thrilled to announce its first new build project in the United States, marking its rollout of the onsen ryokan segment in the country.
Located in Sharon Springs, New York, this new-build property will offer travelers in America an authentic Japanese onsen ryokan experience, combining the traditions of ryokan-style accommodations with the rejuvenating benefits of mineral springs.
Founded in 1914 as a family-owned Japanese ryokan in Karuizawa, Nagano Prefecture, Hoshino Resorts has grown into a globally recognized hotel management company. This new venture marks a significant milestone in our company’s mission to provide exceptional hospitality experiences worldwide.
This property is expected to begin welcoming guests in 2028.
A Luxurious Onsen Experience
This property will be the first luxury accommodation in Sharon Springs, featuring up to 40 guest rooms and offering a true Japanese onsen ryokan experience, utilizing the mineral waters on site. Our goal is to provide a serene and restorative environment where guests can escape the hustle and bustle of everyday life and immerse themselves in the beauty of Japanese hospitality.
