Etihad Airways and Taipei-based Starlux Airlines have agreed to a codeshare partnership, the carriers announced Wednesday. The deal will enable Etihad customers to connect to Japanese cities including Nagoya, Sapporo and Fukuoka via Taipei, while Starlux passengers will have direct access to Etihad’s European network through Abu Dhabi.
In addition, Etihad on Sept. 7 will launch daily flights between Abu Dhabi and Taipei operated with Boeing 787 Dreamliner aircraft. The carriers also plan to establish a reciprocal frequent-flyer program by year end.
Further, Starlux in late May announced plans to launch service between Taipei and Phoenix in February 2026. The carrier also on June 2 began service between Taipei and Ontario, Calif.
