The fastest and brawniest Kodiak yet, the Daher Kodiak 900, is now certified to fly in Europe.
Company leaders showed off the brand new airworthiness certificate on Thursday at AERO Friedrichshafen after getting EASA certification.
The first European delivery is scheduled for this fall, Daher said in its announcement. The Kodiak 900 was certified by the FAA last year.
Nicolas Chabbert, senior vice president of Daher’s aircraft division, said that interest for the aircraft in the European market is “significant” for missions ranging from air ambulance and firefighting support to skydiving and surveillance.
“With its higher cruise speed, excellent operating efficiency, enhanced climb performance and larger cabin, our Kodiak 900 meets the requirements of many customers who seek a faster aircraft and increased cargo capacity,” he said.

A sort of utility knife in the general aviation world, the Kodiak 900 has backcountry STOL capabilities and has a four-foot longer fuselage than the Kodiak 100. It has a cruise speed of 210 KTAS with a range of 1,129 nautical miles.
Other engineering updates help reduce drag and boost airflow circulation, thanks to redesigned ducts, inlets, and air intakes. The optional cargo pod on the Kodiak 100 is standard on the 900.
The engine for the Kodiak 900 is a Pratt & Whitney Canada 900-shaft horsepower PT6A-140A turboprop engine. The propeller is a new constant speed, full-feathering and hydraulically-actuated five-blade composite from Hartzell.
Despite being bigger and stronger, the Kodiak 900 burns fuel at a 5% lower rate than the 100. At a maximum passenger configuration of 10 seats, Daher says the cost per passenger is significantly lower than for other aircraft in its class.
Creature comforts in the cabin include USB-A and USB-C ports, cupholders and mobile phone holders for every seat.

First unveiled at EAA AirVenture in July 2022, the Kodiak 900 has a total cabin volume of 309 cubic feet, decked out with new Summit+ passenger seats that are multi-directional. Seats can be placed in a double club configuration or an all-forward configuration. Seats can also be removed to allow for additional cargo space. The new seats come with quick-release handles.
The Daher Kodiak 900 costs in the range of $3.4 million.
