Citation X skidded off runway while landing in Colorado
?(Image from San Miguel County Sheriff Facebook)A private jet slid off the runway on Tuesday at the Telluride Airport (TEX) in Colorado when attempting to land.
The San Miguel County Sheriff reported that at approximately 12:15 p.m., a Cessna Citation X skidded approximately 300 yards off the runway as it was landing. The pilot told the authorities that the aircraft was hit by a strong crosswind just as it touched down, according to KKCO11 News, causing it to skid about 300 yards off the runway and its left main landing gear collapse. There was no post-accident fire, but there was damage to the left wing and nose wheel.

The two pilots and one passenger were able to self-extricate and there were no reported injuries. All occupants were assessed by Telluride Fire. The airport runways are closed at this time as the NTSB and FAA investigate.
