American Airlines on May 22 plans to open two new lounges at Philadelphia International Airport in the A-West Terminal located between gates A15 and A16, the carrier announced Tuesday. The new spaces will replace the Admirals Club lounge in the A-East Terminal.
Guests will enter through a shared reception lobby for the carrier’s Flagship lounge, at nearly 12,500 square feet, and the Admirals Club lounge, at nearly 11,000 square feet. The Flagship lounge will be able to accommodate 200 guests and include six shower suites, one full-service bar, one self-service wine bar and two private phone booths. Guests also will be greeted with a complimentary glass of champagne, according to American.
The Admirals Club lounge will accommodate up to 181 guests and include two shower suites, one full-service bar and two private phone booths. The design follows the most recent Admirals Club lounges opened at Washington Reagan National Airport, and airports in Denver and Newark, according to American.
Each space also will have a fireplace and lounge area, business center and dining area. In addition, when there is peak traffic, each lounge will be able to add an extra 1,364 square feet when needed, according to the carrier.
Access to the Flagship lounge will be for AAdvantage members with Platinum status or higher and non-AAdvantage Oneworld Emerald and Sapphire members on qualifying itineraries when traveling internationally in a Flagship cabin. Single visit passes will be available for $150 or 15,000 AAdvantage miles.
The Admirals Club lounge will be available to the above qualifying individuals traveling domestically and through an Admirals Club membership, qualifying Oneworld status or the Citi/AAdvantage Executive credit card, according to American. Customers also can purchase a one-day pass for $79 or 7,900 AAdvantage miles.
