AIR ONE successfully completes full forward flight

AIR, a creator of eVTOL aircraft, has announced that its AIR ONE successfully completed its first full forward flight.
The inaugural flight was completed on Dec. 18 in Israel, transitioning from hover to cruise successfully. The full-scale prototype was loaded to full capacity at 1100kg and took off and transitioned to its normal cruising speed.

This accomplishment is the culmination of thousands of flight hours planned for the aircraft for its FAA certification process. The team will continue to increase range, speed and endurance as testing continues. AIR will increase testing to optimize the aircraft to fit its design flight profile.
AIR is unique in the eVTOL market, focusing on personal air mobility rather than commercial uses like air taxis. This new category will provide an alternative for everyday use, providing transportation for short-distance commuting through the sky.
The AIR ONE is capable of taking off and landing on any flat surface with a 250kg payload. The aircraft is an all-electric two-seater that offers a long range on a single charge to speeds up to 155 mph. The AIR ONE can be conveniently stored in most garages and driveways and is also suitable for trailer hauls.
“It is thrilling to have reached this moment in our journey as we strive to build the foundation to make personal air mobility a reality,” CEO and co-founder of AIR Rani Plaut said. “AIR is incredibly proud to play a role in the global AAM movement, and we’re looking forward and upward to 2024 when adoption of privately-owned eVTOLs takes flight.”
After this flight, AIR will transfer most of its operations and research and development to the United States for further testing. In the U.S., more flight tests, development and certification collaboration with the FAA will continue. The AIR has completed many propulsion tests successfully, as well as electronic and stability tests before the first forward flight.
AIR has partnerships with other aviation companies across the globe. The company unveiled the AIR ONE prototype this year at the Kentucky Derby, EAA AirVenture and the Detroit Auto Show since coming out of stealth over one year ago.

Over 260 AIR ONE aircraft have been preordered and support continues to grow.
