Textron Aviation has announced the launch of a new donation campaign to support the 2026 Special Olympics Airlift.
The new campaign is meant to ensure each flight has what it needs for a smooth and welcoming travel experience. Financial contributions will go directly to the Special Olympics, a 501(c)(3) charitable organization and will be used to provide essentials, such as comfort items and operational support. This will make the long journey easier for the athletes and ensure the coast-to-coast operation runs smoothly.
“This campaign reflects the spirit of unity and generosity that defines the Special Olympics movement,” said Greg Epperson, North America Regional President and Managing Director of Special Olympics. “Support for the Special Olympics Airlift helps ensure athletes from across the country can arrive ready, welcomed and celebrated as they begin an unforgettable Games experience.”

The Special Olympics Airlift is a nationwide event that will transport both athletes and coaches to and from the event. Over 100 volunteer Cessna, Beechcraft and Hawker owners and operators to transport athletes to and the Special Olympics USA Games. Textron Aviation claims that it is the largest peacetime airlift in the world and relies entirely on volunteer pilots and aircraft. Since the start of the airlift in 1987, over 10,000 athletes and coaches have been flown by the volunteers, who are given the Dove call sign. Textron Aviation is still calling for additional Doves to join the airlift.”This mission is built on generosity, and every contribution helps create a meaningful experience for these athletes,” said Ron Draper, Textron Aviation president and CEO. “We invite our customers to join in orchestrating the world’s largest peacetime airlift.”
