Taiwan-based Eva Air this July will launch an upgraded Wi-Fi service and free access for business-class passengers and Infinity MileageLands loyalty members, the carrier announced Wednesday. The service will be available on its Wi-Fi equipped aircraft, which includes Boeing 777-300ER, Boeing 787 and Airbus A330-300 planes.
The service will allow for web browsing and text messaging. Unlimited web browsing does not support video streaming, voice calls, VPN connections or video conferencing, according to Eva. When booking a flight, loyalty members will need to input their membership number for the system to determine their eligibility for inflight Wi-Fi service.
Between July 1 through Sept. 30, the carrier is offering a promotion in which all passengers, loyalty members or not, can use the Wi-Fi service for free.
