Sixt Posts Q1 Loss Amid Increased Revenue

Germany-based car rental company Sixt reported first-quarter revenue of €858.1 million, an increase of 10 percent year over year. Still, the company posted a loss of nearly €12.6 million compared with a loss of €23.1 million one year prior.

The company confirmed its forecast for full-year 2025 of a 5 percent to 10 percent year-over-year increase in revenue as it “expects demand for its mobility products to continue to rise.”

North America was the company’s highest-grossing segment at €316.4 million, up nearly 15 percent year over year. That market also reported 133 rental locations compared with 119 in Q1 2024, with five new locations opening in the United States during the first quarter.

Revenue generated in Europe outside of Germany increased nearly 14 percent to €296.5 million. The segment had 476 rental stations as of March 31, compared with 447 a year prior.

The company’s Germany market was just above last year’s revenue at €243.3 million, up from €243 million, and the number of rental stations increased by one over the last year to 361.

Sixt grew its fleet to about 57,900 vehicles as of the end of the first quarter, an increase from 55,000 reported in Q1 2024.
