Fresh air for King Air 360; air conditioning now a standard feature

Cool off in your King Air with a new electrically driven a/c system that will become a standard feature on all future King Air 360 aircraft. Textron Aviation announced on Monday that Beechcraft King Air 360 turboprops have a new standard electric air conditioning feature.

“The new system for the King Air 360 represents our continued investment in an already iconic product,” said Lannie O’Bannion, Textron Aviation’s senior VP for sales and flight operations. “Last year we brought all new interiors and enhancements to the cockpit, and now we are bringing more amenities and comfort to the passengers and crew ahead of each flight.”

The King Air 360 was introduced in 2020 and featured the addition of the Innovative Solutions & Support (IS&S) ThrustSense Autothrottle. This new feature aids pilots while they deliver people or cargo, automatically managing the engine power from the takeoff roll and through the climb, cruise, descent and go-around phases of flight. The cockpit of this plane has a digital pressurization controller that schedules pressurization for the cabin during climb and descent. These features decrease a pilot’s workload and can increase passenger comfort.

How the new King Air 360 and 360ER Compare to other models on the market

The cabin altitude on the King Air 360 is 10 percent lower at 35,000 feet when compared to the King Air 350i, providing better comfort for passengers on longer flights. Along with custom-built design features like cabinetry and partitions, the King Air 360 was built for comfort and pilot ease.

With a new electric air conditioning system built into the aircraft, there is no effect on the cabin space of the aircraft. The new system can be operated without aircraft engines when it is plugged into a GPU. This environmentally friendly option cools the cabin without using the engines of the plane.
