Jet East adding North Carolina maintenance facility

Jet East, a Gama Aviation Company, has signed an agreement to convert two existing hangar buildings into a full-service flagship maintenance facility in Statesville, North Carolina (SVH). Once completed there will be 75,000 square feet of hangar space and 40,000 square feet of office and back shop space.

Built in 2004, the existing main hangar building is available for immediate possession with LED lighting, fall protection, and a fire suppression system. The secondary hangar was built in 2007 and is in similar condition.

“The facility at SVH offers an amazing opportunity for Jet East and allows us to expand our capacity, capabilities, and reach within a key region of the U.S.,” Jet East President and CEO Stephen Maiden said. “The facility is in impeccable condition. The energy for this new endeavor is high and this is truly a milestone moment for the Jet East team and the customers we serve and support.”

The company plans to launch the new facility in the first quarter of 2023. Jet East says they estimate creating over 250 jobs with this new location.

Jet East intends to offer maintenance, avionics, interiors, composites, and structures at the new facility. The company plans to primarily focus on Cessna, Gulfstream, Bombardier, and Embraer products.

There is also a plan to construct a brand-new paint facility at the site.

“We are extremely pleased that Jet East selected Statesville as the location for their newest maintenance repair and overhaul facility,” SVH Airport Manager John Ferguson said. “This exciting partnership will bring additional corporate aircraft into the Statesville Regional Airport from all over the world. We look forward to a long-term relationship and the overall benefits it will bring to our community.”
